At the Council meeting last week we also discussed preparations for the upcoming NSERC Subatomic Physics long range planning exercise. NSERC in the process of staffing the committee. It is anticipated they will be holding a couple of community consultation meetings in the fall of 2005. In anticipation of this IPP Council will prepare a summary of the various projects and prospects in Canadian particle physics for the coming decade. We anticipate preparing a briefing paper for the long-range planning committee similar to the one from five years ago (see the bottom of the page at www.ipp.ca, where the document from the previous exercise is still posted). To get input and stimulate discussion in the community we will hold a one-day IPP town hall meeting in conjunction with the IPP Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting will be held Sunday afternoon, the 5th of June at the CAP meeting in Vancouver. We will hold the long range planning meeting on Saturday the 4th of June, in the TRIUMF auditorium. We expect short presentations from all of the current IPP projects as well as those groups who are preparing for future projects. We encourage any member of the community with an interesting particle physics project to get in touch with us and we will try to find time on the agenda to hear from them. More details on the agenda for the meeting will be coming in a few weeks. I look forward to seeing many of you at the town-hall and annual general meetings. William
