Research Associate Position
in
Experimental Subatomic Physics

The McGill University High Energy Physics group invites applications for a position of Research Associate in the ZEUS experiment at HERA. A broad range of important processes is under active study by the ZEUS collaboration, including the structure functions of the proton in deep inelastic scattering, the interactions of the photon in photoproduction and numerous QCD phenomena. The McGill group in ZEUS is responsible for the laser calibration of the calorimeter systems and is involved in the maintenance and running of the calorimeters.

Candidates must have a recent Ph.D. in particle physics with substantial experience in detectors and data analysis. He or she is expected to play a leading role in one of the ZEUS physics groups. The term of the appointment will be two years, renewable yearly by mutual agreement. The initial salary will be determined in part by the successful applicant's experience and record of accomplishment. The applicant will be based at DESY.
