The Status of KaNOE: Kenora Off-axis NuMI Oscillation Experiment

A Letter of Intent to build a detector to study $\nu_mu\to \nu_e$
oscillations using the off-axis NuMI beam was submitted to Fermilab
in the summer of 2002 (see http://www-off-axis.fnal.gov/). I will
describe the status of this project, with particular emphasis on
the choice of site.
