Promise and Problems in Precision Detection of the Polarization of the CMB

Many groups are launching new efforts towards precision measurements of the polarization of the cosmic microwave background radiation. I will present the approach taken in QUIET, a recently funded polarization experiment with some unique features. Results from CAPMAP, a predecessor to QUIET in significant ways, will as well be presented.
