Nanobiology: Membranes and Proteins in Motion

Maikel Rheinstädter

McMaster University

One of the major challenges of modern physics is to contribute to biology and life-sciences. Neutron and synchrotron facilities are premier research tools to tackle this important challenge. Neutron and x-ray beams allow us to study molecular dynamics in membranes and interactions between membrane embedded proteins in-situ under physiological conditions and give unique insight. I will present exciting recent results and potential biomedical applications.
