Important dates
Applications must be completed by December 13th, 2013
Emails will be sent on December 16th, 2013 to inform those who have been
accepted to the conference.
The last day to confirm your participation to the conference and pay the
registration fee is December 20th, 2013.
Important information
The conference will be held at New
Residence Hall located at 3625 Avenue du Parc, Montréal.
Participants who have requested lodging will stay at the
Holiday
Inn Midtown at 420 Sherbrooke W, Montréal.
Purpose of the conference
- To help undergraduate women in Physics programs transition from
undergraduate to graduate studies in physics with success
- To foster an undergraduate Physics culture in Canada and at McGill
University in which women are encouraged and supported to pursue and succeed
in high education
- To strengthen the network of women in undergraduate Physics programs
and women in various industrial professions and academic positions
Objectives
In order to exemplify this purpose, the specific objectives for the conference
are that the participants leave with:
- Increased awareness of current Physics research and career options, both in
industrial and academic fields
- Resources for applying to and being successful in graduate school
- Greater familiarity with the graduate school experience
- Access to a network for women in Physics
